Portable Pop Up Displays To Solve All Your Exhibit Worries

by Wes Carlson

Portable pop up displays can be a real boon for those doing trade show and convention exhibiting on a smaller scale. Perhaps the greatest part of using pop up portable displays is the ease of portability without special shipping or packing concerns. If the team on the exhibit circuit is just a couple of representatives, or even just one, a great display is easy to transport and set up when portable pop up exhibits are chosen.

Exhibit displays fall into three main categories, the first and simplest being the portable pop up displays we will discuss in detail. The other main types are modular displays, which are a bit more complicated and costly, which are nearly as portable as pop ups. These simulate custom work and can be easy to assemble, but must usually be crated and shipped by common carriers. Custom displays are more elaborate, harder to set up and far more expensive.

When you are using a custom display you may need help to set it up and a large vehicle to transport it, but if you use a pop up display then it will be easily transported in most any vehicle. These displays are made to be easily set up and easily moved from place to place.

The way that portable pop up displays appear is quite varied. These sections can be covered with fabric or plastic, in fact, with just about anything to give the effect you want. The panels and sections can be quite easily assembled by using magnets to tie everything together.

While most pop up units form familiar booths, some are very striking and may be honeycombs of geometric shapes and patterns that will reach out and grab the interest of those passing by the exhibit. Don't assume that a display that fits in a box has to look like a box!

In order to set up pop up portable displays, a space with dimensions of about 8' by 20' is usually the minimum, but they will work in a wide variety of spaces. The first step is setting up the framework to establish the rear panel of the exhibit. Next, attachments are added to the sides where posters, graphics, and other information are displayed.

Making a choice between the various types of portable pop up displays requires considering several factors, one of which is cost. Even the least expensive options can cost several thousand dollars if you want a professional appearance. Setup time is also important. Consider how many parts each provider requires for the display. Less parts mean less setup time and a lower likelihood of losing an important component in transit.

Finally, the choice of which product to buy depends on the look you desire. Some companies may offer great traditional booths, but not the modern, hexagonal work of art exhibit you have in mind. Find the display that meets your vision to present your product as well as one that meets your budget and assembly skills.

Of the three main kinds of displays, portable pop up displays, modular displays and custom displays, the pop ups are the least expensive and most suitable for small businesses with small exhibit teams. Pop up portable displays require no special vehicles or packing and are easy to set up and take apart by only one or two people. They can be carried in an ordinary vehicle, and come in many forms and types. Frameworks form "walls" on which panels covered in fabric or other materials are mounted, and these can be booths or creative, artistic geometric shapes. Portable pop up exhibits can vary in size, usually 8' to 20' wide.
